The GNT. Factor V Leiden test analyzes the G1691A genetic variant of the F5 gene, responsible for a Factor V resistant to activated protein C (APC). Factor V acts as a cofactor in coagulation; when it is resistant to APC, its physiological inactivation decreases and the thrombotic risk may increase.

Its objective is to identify resistance to activated protein C by the Leiden variant and to guide personalized preventive measures in patients with thrombotic risk.

  • Study of hereditary thrombophilia.
  • Personal or family history of DVT/PE or recurrent thrombosis.
  • Pre-surgical assessment or before periods of prolonged immobilization.
