Oral Dysbiosis
The oral cavity is a complex and dynamic ecosystem, where various surfaces harbor communities of microorganisms that form a biofilm essential for oral health. Oral dysbiosis occurs when there is an alteration in this balance, whether due to loss, imbalance, or excessive proliferation of the biofilm, which can be the origin of various pathologies, including caries and periodontitis. Factors related to our current lifestyle, such as changes in diet and stress, can induce alterations in oral pH and imbalance of the microbiota, affecting our health.
The Oral Dysbiosis Test is a tool for detailed analysis of the oral microbiota. This study has significant implications not only for the early detection of caries and periodontal diseases, but also for evaluating its impact on crucial aspects of general health, such as female fertility, digestion, and the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
This test is especially indicated for:
- Assessing the oral microbiota, its metabolic activity, and oral markers (inflammatory, digestive, and stress-related).
- Evaluating the predisposition to develop caries and periodontal diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis.
- Specific oral conditions such as halitosis, canker sores, and mouth ulcers.
- Studying the relationship between the oral microbiota and couple’s fertility.
The results obtained will allow us to make changes in eating behavior, the specific use of antibiotics, probiotics and/or prebiotics to devise a personalized treatment. These measures are designed to restore the balance of the oral biofilm, thus optimizing oral health and, by extension, the patient’s general health.
