The Urine Amino Acid Test allows the quantification of these micronutrients (essential and non-essential, dimers and derivatives) by LC MS/MS.
- Evaluate nutritional imbalances.
- Evaluate the deficit of enzymatic co-factors necessary for the functioning of metabolic pathways.
- Evaluate neurotransmitter precursors.
- ESSENTIAL: Phenylalanine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Threonine, Tryptophan, and Valine.
- CONDITIONALLY ESSENTIAL: Arginine, Cysteine Sulfate, Glycine, Glutamine, Proline, and Tyrosine.
- NON-ESSENTIAL: Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid, Alanine, Asparagine, and Serine.
- DIMERS: Anserine (ß-Ala+NMHis), Carnosine (ß-Ala+His), Cystine (Cys-Cys).
- DERIVATIVES: 1-methylhistidine, 3-methylhistidine, AcetylTyrosine, Alpha-Aminoadipic, Alpha-aminobutyric, Argininosuccinic, Beta-alanine, Beta-aminoisobutyric, Cystathionine, Citrulline, Ethanolamine, Phenyl-acetyl-glutamine, Phosphoethanolamine, GABA, Hydroxylysine, Hydroxyproline, Hydroxykynurenine, Homocystine, Homocitrulline, Ornithine, Pyroglutamic, Kynurenine, S-adenosylhomocysteine, Sarcosine, and Taurine.
- Avoid taking the sample during the menstrual period
- In case of medication, consult with your requester for sample collection. (If possible, avoid ingestion; if not, note it on the questionnaire)
- During the 5 days prior to sample collection, follow a diet free of: bananas, oranges, pineapple, cheese, chocolate, sweets, candies, jams, ice cream, and sparkling or effervescent drinks.
- Avoid the ingestion of alcohol, coffee, and tea 24 hours before sample collection.
