- When there are faucets, it should be taken from one that is normally used, letting the water run until it is considered running water from the supply system (an indication is the change in water temperature). Samples will not be taken from hydrants or faucets at the end of the system.
- If the samples are collected in a water storage location, they will be taken from the top and width of the location where it is performed, due to the distribution of suspended particles, as they will not all be the same size or at the same height.
- Fill 1 L in a glass container.
