The Complete DAO Profile includes the determination of the concentration and activity of the DAO enzyme, along with the evaluation of the main SNPs of the AOC1 gene that codes for DAO. This study allows us to assess DAO deficiency from both the activity and concentration points of view.

In the case of a DAO deficiency, endogenous or exogenous histamine cannot be broken down quickly enough, and the characteristic symptoms of histamine intolerance develop (gastrointestinal problems, migraine, nasal mucosa irritations, and other allergic symptoms)
