The sperm DNA fragmentation test assesses the integrity of sperm genetic material in relation to male fertility and reproductive outcomes. The test is performed using the SCD technique, microscopically assessing chromatin halos to classify sperm as fragmented or non-fragmented.

  • BASIC SEMEN ANALYSIS: Colour, ejaculate volume, pH, sperm concentration and total sperm count in the ejaculate.
  • SPERM DNA FRAGMENTATION: percentage of fragmented and non-fragmented sperm.
  • Couples with infertility of unknown cause.
  • Cases of recurrent miscarriage or implantation failure.
  • Previous failures in assisted reproduction treatments.
  • Men with risk factors associated with impaired sperm quality or increased oxidative damage (varicocele, infections, exposure to toxins, etc.).
