The GNT. Alzehimer identifies the ApoE genotype to evaluate the genetic influence on lipid metabolism and susceptibility to Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular risk. The ApoE variants (isoforms) modulate the transport of cholesterol and triglycerides and can modify the relative risk of cognitive impairment and dyslipidemia.
Its objective is to provide useful genetic information for the stratification of cognitive and cardiovascular risk and to guide prevention and lifestyle strategies.
- Individuals with a family history of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias.
- Assessment of cardiovascular risk and dyslipidemia within preventive programs.
- Patients with hypercholesterolemia or variable response to dietary changes.
- Longevity and brain health plans in adults and seniors.
