The GNT. Fertility. HLA-C/KIR evaluates genetic markers involved in maternal-fetal immunological tolerance. It integrates the HLA-C ligand (C1/C2 groups), the KIR haplotype (A/B profile and content of activating/inhibitory genes).
Its objective is to support the diagnosis and stratification of reproductive risk, guiding decisions in assisted reproduction, prevention of complications, and personalized management of pregnancy.
- Unexplained infertility and recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in assisted reproduction.
- Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and history of growth restriction or preeclampsia.
- Planning transfers with egg or embryo donation, where the KIR/HLA-C axis may be relevant.
- HLA-C: C1/C2 ligand typing.
- KIR: A/B haplotype
