The GNT. Fertility. HLA-C/KIR/MTHFR/Leiden/Prothrombin evaluates genetic markers involved in maternal-fetal immunological tolerance and thrombotic risk associated with obstetric complications. It integrates the HLA-C ligand (C1/C2 groups), the KIR haplotype (A/B profile and content of activating/inhibitory genes), and thrombophilia variants (F2 and F5) along with MTHFR (folate/homocysteine metabolism) for a multidimensional view of fertility and gestation.
Its objective is to support the diagnosis and stratification of reproductive risk, guiding decisions in assisted reproduction, prevention of complications, and personalized management of pregnancy.
- Unexplained infertility and recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in assisted reproduction.
- Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and history of growth restriction or preeclampsia.
- Planning transfers with egg or embryo donation, where the KIR/HLA-C axis may be relevant.
- Assessment of obstetric thrombotic risk (F2/F5) and adjustment of preventive strategies during gestation or hormonal treatments.
- HLA-C: C1/C2 ligand typing.
- KIR: A/B haplotype
- MTHFR: C677T and A1298C variants.
- F2 (Prothrombin): G20210A variant.
- F5 (Factor V Leiden): G1691A variant.
