The GNT. Fructose Intolerance test evaluates genetic variants in the ALDOB gene, related to a reduced ability to metabolize fructose, a sugar naturally present in fruits, honey, and some processed foods. This alteration can cause digestive symptoms and discomfort after consumption.
Its objective is to confirm the genetic predisposition to hereditary fructose intolerance, facilitating a differential diagnosis with respect to acquired intolerances or malabsorption.
