The GNT. Lactose test evaluates genetic variants in the MCM6 gene, which regulates the expression of the lactase enzyme, responsible for lactose digestion. Decreased activity of this enzyme can cause reduced tolerance to dairy products.
Its objective is to identify the genetic predisposition to primary lactose intolerance, differentiating it from secondary or transient intolerances.
- Study of the C13910T mutations of the MCM6 gene (lactase promoter).
