The Urine Mycotoxin Test evaluates the levels of mycotoxins related to environmental or food exposure of species of Aspergillus, Fusarium, and Penicillium mainly.
Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites produced by certain fungi that can contaminate food and feed, posing risks to human and animal health. These fungi, known as molds, belong to various genera, with the most common being Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Fusarium. Mycotoxins are secondary chemical compounds produced as part of fungal metabolism and can be harmful when consumed in significant quantities.
