Description
SAMPLE TYPE: SEMINAL
RESULTS: 20 DAYS
Results delivered from sample reception
The Basic Seminal Dysbiosis Test Profile analyzes the seminal microbiome, including bacterial and fungal microbiota, urogenital pathogens and basic STIs, and a study of seminal plasma biochemistry.
This profile can provide objective information in assessing seminal microbiological balance, especially when it is necessary to study the presence of specific bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and pathogens in the seminal sample.
It can be useful as analytical support in studies related to seminal health, male fertility, inflammatory or infectious processes of the urogenital tract, and clinical follow-up by healthcare professionals.
Results must always be interpreted in a clinical context, considering the patient’s history, symptomatology, urogenital background, previous treatments, fertility, seminogram, or other complementary tests.
Prior preparation, collection conditions, and sample transport must follow the laboratory’s specific instructions to ensure analysis quality.
- MICROBIOTA by NGS: Bacteria, Fungi and Yeasts.
- PATHOGENS (includes STIs): Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Ureaplasma parvum, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma genitalium.
- SEMINAL MARKERS: pH, alpha-glucosidase, zinc, fructose, citric acid, and leukocyte elastase
