The Hydrogen, Methane, and Exhaled Sulfide Test is a non-invasive test that allows, from the exhaled air, to determine the amount of hydrogen (H2), methane (CH4), and sulfide (H2S) generated by the intestinal microbiota through a fermentation process, and after having previously ingested a type of sugar, lactulose.
- Evaluate Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).
- Evaluate the Overgrowth of methane or hydrogen sulfide producing species.
- Patients with constipation and/or diarrhea.
7 readings at different times (basal, 30min, 60min, 90min, 120min, 150min and 180min) of:
– HYDROGEN
– METHANE
– SULFIDE
*The results are delivered corrected by the amount of exhaled CO2.
