The EXTENDED profile of the Vaginal Dysbiosis Test is the study of the vaginal microbiota by NGS method, allowing a global observation of the vaginal microenvironment. It incorporates the study of sexually transmitted microorganisms to the Basic profile, both the most frequent and those that cause ulcers or viral infections. Inflammation and pH markers provide information on the impact on the balance of the vaginal mucosa.

It allows the identification of most infections described at the vaginal level, an initial assessment of infertility, or the assessment of infections and/or inflammations resistant to treatment.

  • Recurrent or isolated infections (Vaginosis)
  • Menstrual imbalances (menstrual pain, metrorrhagia…)
  • Infection due to the overgrowth of species that favor a pro-inflammatory state (Vaginitis) and/or pelvic infection (pelvic pain).
  • The study of female fertility (implantation failures and recurrent abortions). •Sexually transmitted infections.
  • WOMEN’S MARKERS: pH, secretory IgA, and Lactoferrin.
  • MICROBIOME by NGS:
    • Bacteriome: more than 50 bacterial genera are detected together with the most relevant species. The typing of the Lactobacillaceae (L. crispatus, L. gasseri, L. paragasseri, L. jensenii, L. iners, L. vaginalis.. family is included.
    • Mycobiome: 5 fungal genera are detected. The typing of the Candida (C. albicans, C. auris, C. glabrata, C. krusei, C. parapsilosis, C. tropicalis, C. theae, C. utilis, C. dubliniensis y C. lusitaniae) genus is included.
  • STIs by PCR: Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseriae gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma parvum, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia LGV, Treponema pallidum, Haemophilus ducreyi.
  • VIRUSES by PCR: HSV1, HSV2, CMV, VZV.

Collect the sample in the luteal phase (between days 16 to 24 after the start of menstruation). Avoid during the menstrual period.

  • In case of amenorrhea or menopause, the sample can be taken at any time.
  • Avoid treatment with ovules or antibiotics 15 days before.
  • Avoid vaginal douching 1 week before, spermicides, or lubricants 48 hours before.
  • Abstain from sexual activity for a minimum of 3 days before taking the sample.
  • Do not use antiseptics (povidone, chlorhexidine) during the examination before taking the sample.
