Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) or Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are a group of diseases primarily transmitted through sexual contact and can cause serious illnesses. Some individuals are carriers and transmitters of the microorganisms that cause them. Prevention is very important, detecting CARRIERS with high-sensitivity techniques to prevent their spread.
- Detected in blood: HIV (Combo or PCR), Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Syphilis.
- Detected in urine: Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gonorrhea), Chlamydia trachomatis, Trichomonas vaginalis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma parvum, and Ureaplasma urealyticum
At Teletest, we offer studies for the detection of these through Self-Collection Kits.
How do I purchase the kit?
You can purchase it through the website, here.
How is it managed?
- Delivery: You can receive it at your home within 24-48 hours after the purchase.
- Return of the KIT to the laboratory: Requesting a collection with the courier company, as indicated in the instructions.
How do I interpret the result?
- NEGATIVE: The analyzed microorganism is not detected.
- POSITIVE: The presence of the analyzed microorganism is detected. It indicates whether it is scarce or abundant.
Is the test confidential?
Confidentiality is assured in any of our tests. You may not specify your name on the request.
Are there any prior considerations that prevent me from taking the test?
There are no limitations to performing the test. Neither menstruation, nor taking medications, nor the presence of other infections interfere with the test result.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

STDs are Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and STIs are the Infections that cause Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Can STDs be contracted if there is no penetration?
Yes, only through direct contact with secretions.
What are the complications of STDs?
Treatments with both antibiotics and antivirals have completely changed the complications derived from this type of disease, some of them very serious. Therefore, its early diagnosis is of great importance.
How can I analyze STDs not included in this group of tests?
A KIT has been designed so that the largest number of infections can be analyzed by taking the samples at home. For the rest, a blood sample should be taken directly from a vein in the laboratory (*consult the extension of these studies).
