Seminal Dysbiosis

Seminal dysbiosis is an imbalance in the composition of the semen microbiome, that is, an alteration in the quantity, diversity, or type of microorganisms present in seminal fluid. Under normal conditions, semen contains a relatively stable microbial community that performs protective functions and may contribute to male reproductive health.

When dysbiosis occurs, potentially pathogenic bacteria increase or beneficial species decrease, which may be related to inflammatory or infectious processes of the urogenital tract:

The Seminal Dysbiosis Test studies the seminal microbiome (bacterial and fungal) and includes extended STI analysis, along with a study of seminal plasma biochemistry.
